Hair is so much more than one of the hottest shows on Broadway right now. It's an important part of every woman and girls day, teenager and adolescent alike. It goes from getting detangled and pulled into a pony tail to colored and streaked with vivid colors. For many it is a fashion accessory that must be perfect looking lest it becomes the reason behind a girls bad day. For others, it's the loss of hair that alerts the public eye to their struggle with sickness. Relationships with good hair stylists are cherished, and hair management can be a very serious undertaking. I was traveling with my teenage daughter and we were strictly using carry-on luggage for a flight. The biggest dilemma with this was what would she do about her hair products. At first I'm thinking "look, I can fit mine so you can fit yours". But she couldn't, the products she uses comes in a big spray can with no travel size and it's the only stuff that really works with her massive head of curls. I really wanted to pull the 'suck it up attitude" I was raised with. But I understood, I totally remember what it was like when I was her age and how much better I felt when my hair was cooperating with the rest of the day. So after landing late in our destination, we sought out a 24-hour drug store that stocked her product then mailed the unused portion back to our house before we returned home. That's just a tiny example of the things women do for beauty, not vanity (though for some, this is just the beginning)

She Shops
There is some mystery to being a mystery shopper. Can she really make money at this? Getting paid to shop and dine does sound too good to be true. But if she plays her cards right, she could make extra cash and have fun doing it. Here's advice from Nicole Weisberg, who writes the blog "Nicole's Nickels." Nicole makes about $300 a month for six hours as a mystery shopper. She suggests signing up with a company online but not anyone who wants a membership fee. Start with a small assignment and follow all directions carefully and thoroughly. Many jobs entail finding a specific brand, seeing if shelves are stocked properly, or if salespeople give and offer the correct information. The mystery shopper must compete detailed surveys, with receipts scanned and attached, then returned within a specific time range before reimbursement happens. Payment can take up to three months. Numerous types of venues need mystery shoppers: theme parks, restaurants, grocery stores, pet stores, or pretty much anywhere in a shopping mall. She can get more information and sign up to shop at the Mystery Shopping Providers Association of America at www.mysteryshop.org.
