I received a picture message of a friend's baby wearing the outfit I gave as a gift. My standard baby gift is sized 6-9 months as this is when the newness of the baby starts to fade. And, most newborns receive newborn sized clothes as gifts along with car seats and high chairs. Plus most new moms can't resist buy little tiny things for their new little person so the bigger size is usually appreciated when the baby grows.
This particular text read "thanks Aunt Beth!" and I totally appreciated its thoughtfulness. Not only did this probably tired new parent remember what gift I gave but they took the time to show me the final result: a baby looking adorable in a pair of grey shorts and a rock-star t-shirt. And really, with today's technology this is not a hard thing to do but in this busy world it is. How often do we really get to see where our gifts go? Weddings, showers, birthdays are happen all the time. Following up with a thoughtful thank you some way, some how not only grows your relationship but it also shows how social networking can bridge a gap with old-fashion values. Send a text today and say thanks.

Now is a crucial time for high school junior and senior students. Most juniors are studying and takingthe SAT (Standardized Achievement Test), which holds a lot of weight in their college decision. Seniors with low scores are eligible to re-take this test in hopes of scoring higher.. Check out some SAT test questions at www.Collegeboard.com.
She's clutter free
Julie Morgenstern (yes, just like Rhoda) is the Queen of De-cluttering. Her column on Yahoo Shine is called "55 Things You Don't Need After All: A Five-Day Challenge to Jump Start Cleaning." She challenges us to such tasks as getting rid of ten items of clothing that don't fit, flatter, or have never been worn. Some women grow attached to their clothes whether they fit or not.
Her book, SHED Your Stuff, Change Your Life: A Four-Step Guide to Getting Unstuck, has a ton of information and you can follow her on Twitter where she's always encouraging a new thing to discard - at www.juliemorgenstern.com.
