It happens in the seasonal isle every year about this time. No, I'm not celebrating the return of Mallomars-although some people do. Mallomars are not produced in summer months due to the marshmallowy middle. It gets ruined in intense heat, thus affecting the transporting of this cookie. But their grand return is a happy time. It's what surrounds these cookies on nearby shelves that leave me rolling my eyes. Halloween candy, turkey centerpieces and bags of foil wrapped Christmas mints are waiting to be purchased, along with a nice selection of summer clearance items. Labor Day is next week. It's "pre" season for football, pumpkins are not quite ripe....lets allow this summer season to play itself out. And that's where you can help her. By maintaining your focus on what is happening now, by meeting your listener where they are today you will not only win in relating but also not stress them out by forcing them to think to far into the future, where much work and a changing schedule awaits. Let her get through Labor Day, then the first week of school. And please let fall pass before you start mentioning 'the holidays". Any signs of Santa or a Menorah right about now gets nothing but another eye roll.

After spotting a billboard that read www.SDDiaperChange.com, Amanda Payne learned that some poverty stricken moms have only one diaper per day, for their baby. Outraged, Amanda set up an enormous diaper drive and collected 19,000 diapers for women and babies in need. Log on to the site to hold your own drive.
