A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away probably close to Wisteria Lane someone supposedly came up with the great fashion rule that anything white is not permitted after Labor Day. In fact this color becomes banned as a staple until summer returns. Whoever made this up is quite different from she who wears the clothes. Oh sure light-weight linen garments won't last through fall, neither will a bright white pant, jacket or skirt but anything else is still fashion fair game. A crisp white shirt is a wardrobe staple and different shades of white round out the wardrobe; winter white, cream, off-white. Restrictions are not going to help anyone look good especially one of this magnitude. First of all black is always her go-to color as it's sliming and works with most situations. Lots of gray, putty and navy colors are in stores and on the runway. White is universal enough to work with all colors every season. You can hang on to this line as an old cliche type of joke and hope that you don't have a blushing bride listening who just ordered a fabulous Vera Wang dress in white. Or you can be in the know with what's in her closet; bootie Shoes, scarfs, ruffled tops and embellished tees. There are lots of great sites to check out like instyle.com.
