Chapped lips, dry hands, sinus issues- it's all happening thanks to the changing weather. Take a look at the end caps the next time you're at a drugs store: lotions, lip balm and Breathe Rite strips are on sale, and let's not forget the tissues. Tis the season for everything to dry up. Depending on what time zone she's in the furnace could already be spreading some warmth through her house along with a healthy balance due on her monthly bill. I'm very hesitant to buy any type of lip moisturizing agent because I loose them quickly. A good expensive lipstick I do not lose. A 99 cent bottle of cherry Chapstick I do. As do my kids, and it's a sure bet once spring rolls around and I give my car an amazing clean out little tubes of lip goo will come rolling out from underneath some seat. And then the question arises as to whether it's okay to still use because if someone has a cold or some sickness and they use a lip balm then I don't want it on my lips. Sometimes, I'll cut a slice off the top of the Chapstick, making it a fresh tube. That first glide across your lower lip feels great; however, I still can't remember what coat pocket or purse I left it in. Bonne Bell lip glosses were big when I was a teen; they were fat sticks with awesome flavors like bubble gum and chocolate cherry. You were not cool if you did not have at least one. I remember when they slimmed down the size and felt it was the end of an era. Now I'm all about Mac makeup, and for what this costs me you can be sure I don't lose a thing. In fact I participate in their recycling programs that get free lipstick for returning empty containers.
Hand lotion is easier to keep track of thanks to it's larger size and longevity. I'm going to stop there because I don't think talking about the rest of the stuff that dries up due to the winter chill that is moving in is worth it to talk about on the radio. Words like sinus and mucus membrane need to be saved for insurance claims and doctors that diagnosis stuff like that. Katy Perry's cherry ChapStick is about as far off the path as I'm willing to veer.
