I listen in on the karate moms regularly for material. Real life is best, right? Not always.
There is one particular woman I've watched for years, I call her Jack Sprat's wife because she is a plus size woman with a tiny, skinny husband. She speaks no qualms about this. In fact she speaks so loudly on her cellphone in the waiting areas that we who are also waiting for our kids to finish with their forms feel bad for Jack because of the way she treats him. Or the way he allows her to treat him (thank you Dr. Phil).
It's always the same thing, she calls to find out what Jack (a CPA) is making for dinner, inquiring if it's not something she's in the mood for. Really, at times I think she's practicing for a reality show. Her daughters do karate and soccer and it's difficult watch her communicate with her kids if they don't perform up to her expectations. She routinely tells them to "get away from me you make me sick" of "try harder or else".
She sits at a table surrounded by other moms from her school who never ever comment. They must be afraid of her.
I have a daughter that goes to school with one of her kids and when I asked about her mine said "oh she's cool mom, she's really tough she can take anything anyone dishes out", I guess this is a plus in high school?
Any day now I'm waiting for the "what would you do" TV cameras to come out and tell me she's an actress. But I know she's not. Instead of mean girls how's about mean moms for an on air topic.
