560 calorie meals are the new hot offering on the Applebee's menu. I gazed longly at a recent television commercial that showed steak being grilled to perfection and shrimp sauteed perfectly by a cute chef who has wanted to 'cook for others his whole life'.

This ad campaign shows a table of men ordering ribs and burgers with one lone guy ordering the 560 calorie meal. I'm not sure what the odds of this happening are but for some reason Applebee's is choosing not to go straight to the ladies with these meals, which would be the typical route. I'd like to make note that this table of guys were all drinking beer, so the calories consumed were greater than expected. If they wanted to really give this commercial the full "chick" feel they would have ended it with all the guys sharing a brownie and ice cream dessert, one plate 5 spoons while asking their waitress for separate checks.

The speculation behind the Hershey's Kiss is that it probably got its name by the puckering noise made by the machine that originally made them. Not that any excuse is needed to enjoy this tasty treat.
