Avon Waiting

I'm having a love hate relationship with the pothole repair crew that seem to follow me one step ahead every route I need to drive on. One pothole can bring miles and miles of stuck traffic, much to the dismay of many drivers. On a positive note it's tax dollars hard at work, and one less pot hole means your car has a better chance of staying aligned. Being stuck for this reason is a lot better than being stuck due to a car accident.
Yesterday, one little pot hole really messed up my morning commute. Why they schedule road constructional at 8 AM is beyond me, but it was much worse for Vickie in the blue Honda CRV. She was going no where near fast and was in no mood to wait. Switching lanes as often as she could and moving in inches was making her furious. We drivers behind her could only be amused by her hand gestures and severe anger and road rage. I know more about Vickie than the make and model of her car; she sells Avon and I know her website and phone number thanks to the large magnetic sign she had on the back of her car; really this sign was quite large. The guy stuck in the car next to me gestured that we (meaning I) should call her. I thought about it with a plan to drench her in kindness as the opposite response in situations like this always tends to blow peoples minds. But wouldn't you know it, good ole Vickie made her way over to the shoulder and was literally driving on an embankment to get to whatever appointment she needed to keep and when a woman is in that much of a hurry I know one thing is for sure, she doesn't need a phone call from me.

Cleaning out the closet is a popular winter activity and she is putting her old stuff to good use! Here are some suggestions on ways to recycle and help others:

Many utility companies charge higher rates during peak times; usually noon-7p.m. with the highest prices coming after 2 p.m. If she runs her appliances during the less popular hours she could get a discount. Some find that running a dishwasher after 7 p.m. cuts their bill in half. Policies vary so check with provider.
Also, if her washing machine and dishwasher are both more than 10 years old running them at the same time will maximize the use of her hot water heater.
She can save at the movies by purchasing four-packs of tickets at a discount. Eight different movie chains offer this at bulktix.com and at Costco.
She might not be aware of all her credit card perks. Chase Freedom offers two for one movie tickets, Visa Signature offers 20 percent off movie tickets than cost over $25.
Some companies allow points to be used to purchase tickets too. Checking with her present company could save her much.
