After our long cold and lonely winter on the East Coast we finally get a warm weekend. Translated: the nail salon is full of people seeking pedicures. Pedicures are a pretty standard beauty practice that happen more regularly when the sandals and flip flops get pulled out from the back of the closet. West Coast gals don't know what I'm talking about as their tootsies require routine year round maintenance. I'm sitting in the chair at my salon next to five others with their feet in sudsy tubs with five more ladies in waiting. I'm always intrigued but the esthetician who handles the feet. She cuts nails, removes calluses, pushes cuticles, rubs feet and paints pretty nails all with a smile on her face. Those who get this done frequently can totally tell when their technician is not in the mood and working through the motions quickly. Thankfully I did not get "that tech" today, so if you don't mind I'm going to put my massage chair on high.
