The case was settled with a $75,000 check and an apology from the school authorities, but the mother of a severely autistic child, 9 years old at the time of the incident, wants the public to know that her son was physically restrained for more than three hours by school employees when he acted up. And, yes, the employees probably used excessive force against a 51-pound child while they tried to put a diaper on him. But what they don't say is what a school is supposed to do when a child acts out like that; do they leave him alone (with the possibility of hurting himself or others), do they... well, what DO they do?
