The brand is a household word in Mexico, and it's been around for a while in places like L.A. where there's a large Mexican population. And it's a huge and successful company. So why can't it roll out its signature product in more markets? Maybe because it's bread with the brand name Bimbo. Bimbo owns a lot of other bakery brands, from Thomas' to Entenmann's and a bunch of regional bread labels. But they want you to buy Bimbo. Marketing experts say they're crazy, because of the other meaning of the word. But I would think that would be a plus. You'll surely remember it. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
