The Race Starts At Conception
-
Sometimes, I see articles about a side of life that's alien to me. Not being a parent, and being the kind of guy who'd have sent my kid to public school anyway (it was good enough for me, and we're lucky enough to live in a good district), I wouldn't know about the heavy pressure on parents to hire private tutors for their kids at an early age. This is like when parents use flash cards while the kid's still in the womb (hey, morons, the kid can't see yet!), or play Mozart to the fetus. We grew up without that insanity and managed to achieve; today, it's gotten so competitive, they won't let kids be kids. (New York Times)
