Tax Up, Sales Down, Revenue Down. Again, This Isn't A Difficult Concept
-
A town near me wants more money for its budget, so it's asking on this week's ballot for a sales tax increase to 10.75% That's a full point higher than the rest of L.A. County, which is already overtaxed, and a point and a half more than nearby Orange County. What do they think is going to happen? Why would I shop at the Target in that town when right down the road about 4 minutes away, there's one with lower tax? Would I buy a car at a dealer there if I could save a full percentage point at another dealer? (Daily Breeze)
