Bad news for the economy: There's a record number of discouraged unemployed people, 1.2 million of them who want a job but aren't looking because they've given up. What that means is that when things improve and they DO come back to the active job search, it'll keep the unemployment rate high because of the increase in the number of candidates. (USA Today)
