You Don't Have A Permit, So You'll Have To... Say, Is That A Snckerdoodle?
-
Two 13-year-old kids wanted to raise a few bucks for themselves, figuring that in a few years, they could save up enough to open a restaurant. So they set up a table at a park selling cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and Rice Krispies treats. And they got shut down by the cops on the order of a Town Board member. Rules are rules, you see. Licenses and inspections must be obtained. And the board member is now officially the Bad Guy. But it wasn't for charity, and what about vendors who go through the licensing process -- are they suckers? What if the kids were pranking people with tainted food? What if, what if, what if? Aah, it's still overreaction. (Journal News; Thanks to Jeff Katz at WXKS (Rush Radio 1200)/Boston for the link)
