Doesn't Have To Make Sense. Just Has To Make It Look Like They're Doing Something
-
The idiots at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors have gone ahead and banned plastic bags at retail stores and imposed a 10 cent fee on every paper bag, to force consumers to always carry their own bags. But they only did it where they have jurisdiction, which is in the pockets of the county that are unincorporated. The net effect: They'll drive stores in those areas out of business, because they're all within a short distance of stores in incorporated areas that are exempt from the law. Would you buy groceries in a store where they charge you for bags when you can go a couple of minutes down the road and not have to worry about that? (KABC-TV/Los Angeles)
