So, really, you need more reasons to hate insurance companies? Okay, then, how about this story about how some life insurance companies will cancel life insurance policies after death on questionable grounds, leaving the survivor beneficiaries to have to sue to get anything? They use a loophole allowing the companies to cancel in the first two years of a policy if the policyholder didn't disclose something material, and they use that even if the omission had nothing to do with the death, or may not have been omitted (or real) at all. They're happy to take your money, but paying out is another story. (Los Angeles Times)
