And It's Already Running 15 Minutes Late

Here's how insane the rush to spend money on high-speed trains has gotten: California will spend AT LEAST $4.15 BILLION on a 65 mile stretch of the bullet train line that is supposed to go from L.A. to San Francisco. The stretch is being built despite the rest of the line not being close to reality. And that stretch goes from nowhere to nowhere, a depressed area of the Central Valley with no money and no need for anyone to use a train. In fact, they'll spend all that money to build the line and stations in Fresno and Hanford, but because the rest of the line won't be built, they're not even putting in maintenance facilities or an electrical system. Yes, they're building train tracks and stations and bridges and not putting a train on them. Oh, and if you're not in California, you're paying for this with billions in federal funding.
