Let's Just Say It Was Nobody's Fault And Move On, Okay? Please?

The White House would like you not to consider the election results a referendum on Obama, and they're pushing hard through friends in the media the meme that each loss was local, not a repudiation of the administration's policies. But Obama's policies were closely aligned with the Democratic candidates in Virginia and New Jersey, and he campaigned especially hard for Jon Corzine. If voters are upset with the economy and the government's dealing with it, that's not just a "local issue." And 40% of voters in Virginia and slightly fewer in New Jersey told pollsters that Obama WAS a factor in their vote, split between supporters and detractors, and independents are now leaning right. So it's a little disingenuous to claim that Obama had nothing to do with it.
