Look For The Orange Roof
-
I don't usually feature galleries without news or a list attached, but this one is about the history of Howard Johnson's, and for anyone who grew up in the Northeast, that's nostalgia enough for a topic. Once upon a time, HoJo's was universal, the default roadside food option. You got the clam strips or New England-style hot dogs on those buns without the crust on the sides, and ice cream, of course. It's hard to believe they're gone. (Boston Globe; Thanks to Jeff Katz at WXKS (Talk 1200)/Boston for the link)
