What Does Chuck Cunningham Have To Say About This?
-
Mrs. C, Potsie, Ralph Malph, and Joanie, plus the estate of Mr. C, are suing CBS, claiming that the network, which owns the merchandising rights to "Happy Days" (it aired on ABC, but was produced by Paramount) stiffed them on merchandising royalties. The trigger: They discovered "Happy Days" slot machines with their likenesses al over them. And they never got paid for it. CBS agrees they should be paid, but they just haven't, and the network also says all that it owes is about $9,000 per head. The plaintiffs say it's in the millions. The real number's probably in between, but I'd guess that it's closer to the high end than the low end. (CNN)
