The Battle Of Whataburger
-
Hey, Dallas area, you're about to get your first In-N-Out Burger. Start queuing up now. Yes, L.A.'s favorite fast food place is finally expanding, and millions of Texans will ask, "what's the big deal?" And that would be the right reaction -- we've seen crazes like this before, from Krispy Kreme to Pollo Campero. But In-N-Out IS good. If you're new to it, here's the primer: All they have is burgers, fries, shakes, soda, strawberry lemonade. That's it. Order 'em "Animal Style" for lettuce, tomato, onions, pickle, extra sauce, and the burger cooked in mustard. "Protein Style" replaces the bun with a lettuce wrap. The burgers come with lettuce, tomato, and sauce but omitting any of those won't delay your order, and you can get onions (raw or grilled). "Double Double" is a double cheeseburger. The fries are fresh but ALWAYS order them "well done," and they kinda taste like potato sticks (Five Guys' and McDonald's fries are better). There! Now you know. (WFAA-TV/Dallas)
