How About, Like, Monaco?

Save the Children does an annual list of the best and worst places for mothers. Best this year? Norway. Worst? Afghanistan, although I think the competition for that is tough. The U.S. is 31st, but I would argue that for many people and many reasons, it's among the best; the problem is that it depends on your family economic status. If you're upper or middle class, even lower-middle class, you're fine. And there are plenty of government programs for poor mothers, but they don't always take full advantage and the level of education about how to raise kids is not the highest. But would you rather be born in the U.S. or someplace else? (AP via Newser)
