Won't Make The Movies Any Better, Either
-
The Highway 18 Outdoor Theatre has a new digital projector, offering a great picture on its 80-foot screen. And that's nice, but what's striking to me is that it's a drive-in. Does the picture quality even matter for a drive-in? I mean, I grew up going to drive-ins, but is that really an experience you want to relive? Crappy sound, the movie distorted by your windshield, the gravel sound of cars leaving early or arriving late, the long trek to the snack bar, people doing Lord-knows-what in the car next to you with the fogged windows? What do you mean, yes it is? (WITI-TV (Fox 6)/Milwaukee)
