If It's That Unsafe, Don't Give Them Internet Access
-
Here it comes: After those reports of all the underage kids on Facebook, we get warnings that the Net is unsafe for kids and, as a result, we should "lock down" the Web in ways that would make things very inconvenient for adults, like using credit card numbers to verify age -- how can that NOT lead to identity theft? Do you want Facebook to have your credit card number? -- or otherwise block access. Look, if you have kids, buy and use a damn filter, and watch what the kids do online. Here's a better idea: don't buy them a computer they can use in their rooms, buy one they can share in a common room that you can monitor. Don't screw things up for the rest of us. (Fox News)
