Sock Puppet With A Hole In It
-
The guy worked for a company that installs red light cameras, and he was unhappy seeing the paper in a city where they had cameras put in filled with negative comments from the public. So he registered with the paper's web site and posted pro-camera comments. And he got caught, because when he registered, he put in his real name and email address. This is called "sock puppetry" when it's done anonymously, and that's what he was going for, except he didn't cover all his bases. But others do, which is why you have to take Internet message board comments with a grain, or pound, of salt. (KOMO-TV/Seattle)
