The State's Virtually Bankrupt And This Is What They're Doing About It
-
The Supreme Court ruled pretty much the only way it could that the Westboro Baptist Church nutjobs have a constitutional right to picket outside military funerals. The "constitutional" part seems to have escaped showboating California politician Ted Lieu, who's proposed a bill to ban "disruptive" picketing at the funerals. It's pointless, since it bans picketing on private property, already not permitted, and doesn't define "disruptive," which could mean different things to different people. But he calls the Supreme Court decision "stupid," which shows that he has a keen grasp on constitutional law. Good to know someone who doesn't understand freedom of speech is an elected official.
