Seriously, Just Put One Or Two In Your House. It's Worth The Trouble
-
California's carbon-monoxide detector law takes effect on Friday, and on one hand, my libertarian instincts decry the nanny state requiring people to install those things. But my human instincts say that everyone SHOULD have carbon monoxide detectors in their houses, because, bottom line, they save lives. They're essential. We've had one for years. If the law -- which is pretty unenforceable -- prompts some laggards to put carbon monoxide detectors in, well, that's not a bad thing. (Orange County Register)
