I Got A Whole Pack Of Joe Shlabotniks

Among baseball card fans, the '84 Donruss set is considered one of the best. It had as a feature a bunch of "Rated Rookie" cards of players projected to become stars, picked by Bill Madden of the New York Daily News. How'd they turn out? That's the premise of this Mental Floss post, and you'll find that some -- Ron Darling, Tony Fernandez, Greg Gagne, Joe Carter, Sid Fernandez -- did fine, and others, not so much. And among the rookies they missed were Don Mattingly, Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Kirby Puckett, and some guy named ROger Clemens. So... not perfect.
