Why, They're Not Bad Kids, They're Just... Okay, They're Bad Kids
-
Three middle-school boys admitted taking two 12-year-old girls into a secluded area during a school field trip and sexually assaulting them for about eight minutes. Here's the thing: We're talking 13- and 14-year-old boys. The law has always said that kids that age are too young to, essentially, know what they're doing wrong. But that's not quite right, I think. No matter how horny kids emerging from puberty might be, 99% of them know that sexually assaulting someone is wrong. The handful who don't... is there any chance they'll grow up to be anything other than horrible people? Can't be much more than a slim chance. (San Francisco Chronicle)
