Dude was acquitted by a jury of shooting and killing a co-worker at a pizza joint in Vermont. Then he called the cops and confessed to the crime, and asked to surrender. One small problem: They can't retry him. At the trial, the murderer confessed, yet the jury believed that he did so because he was mentally ill, not because he did it. But the cops say he did it, and HE says he did it. And there's not much they can do about it. (Burlington Free Press)
