I'd Rather Live With The Illusion That We're Safe
-
You don't get much more brazen than whoever walked up to a guy on the State Street Bridge in Chicago at 5 pm on a Monday and shot him in the head at close range. This was in broad daylight with plenty of witnesses on a busy bridge in a neighborhood where that kind of thing just doesn't happen. They think it was a targeted hit, which seems like it's a safe bet. And preferable to the idea that it was random, because if it WAS random, it reinforces the idea that it could happen to anyone anywhere at any time, and we don't want to think about that.
