Try That At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art And See How They React
-
I love it when a community rises up against a piece of public "art" that everyone hates and does it in such a creative way that it becomes actual art of a sort. We've met the "Cardiff Kook" in Cardiff, CA before, a statue that's supposed to show a kid learning how to surf but looks awkward and just odd, and how people keep dressing it up in creative and funny ways, angering the sculptor but amusing the locals. The latest indignity for the Kook: Someone put a pterodactyl model on top of it, with a full backdrop wrapping around it, making it appear as if the pterodactyl is snatching the surfer to carry it away. It's hilarious. See, public art really does bring the community together. (San Diego Union-Tribune)
