Hey, So, Without Staten Island, What's 'The Situation' Supposed To Wear?
-
Nike has a new line of sneakers called "NYC Boro" emblazoned with the names of New York's boroughs, Queens. Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Harlem. Wait, what? Harlem's not a borough. Manhattan, where Harlem is located, IS a borough. And... well, the other thing is that there are, in reality, FIVE boroughs. They left out Staten Island. Now, as someone whose experiences on Staten Island have involved a) taking the ferry and b) driving on the ridiculously deeply rutted "expressway" from the Verrazano bridge across the borough to Jersey and back, I'm not a fan, but, come on, it IS a borough. Nike explains that they're only using the four "boroughs" for these kicks because that's what the teams are in their "Battle of the Boroughs" tournament. But if it IS a battle of the boroughs, they're missing someone. (New York Post)
