At Least He Didn't Bring Up Booing, Snowballs, And Santa Claus

When there's nothing else to write about, sports editors love posting Best and Worst Fans in Baseball lists. This one's from the L.A. Times and is based on one writer's opinion. Top 5: Red Sox (sure), St. Louis (yup), Yankees (okay, although they have plenty of front-runners and people there to be seen rather than to watch the game), Phillies (thank you), and San Francisco (well, only since they won it all). Bottom five: Tampa Bay and Miami (definitely), Cleveland (sad), Oakland (they have fans?), and Toronto (based on attendance, but there IS a strong base of fans and "competitive" doesn't draw fans when you're still 11 games behind; how about Atlanta and Arizona where they're REALLY competitive and plenty of tickets are still available?). See? Easy to get people started. (Los Angeles Times)
