CVS is settling a consumer protection lawsuit over the drugstore chain overcharging for sale items and running misleading ads. They're paying a $1.2 million fine, $420,000 in costs, and $300,000 in a contribution to the state Department of Measurement Standards. But, um... what do the ripped-off customers get? Seriously, the state's getting money, but if you were victimized, what's your remedy? Shouldn't you get something? (Long Beach Press-Telegram)
