What The Travel Channel Won't Tell You
-
The Australian government is telling its citizens that it shouldn't expect to get bailed out if they're in a country where trouble breaks out. Some tourists during the "Arab Spring" got upset when they weren't "rescued" fast enough, and two even asked whether they'd get their frequent flyer miles for the rescue flight. People don't understand that if you leave your country, you're subject to that other country's laws, and if things go bad, you're on your own. (Sydney Morning Herald)
