Move 'Em To Beijing And Sell Dodger Stadium- Win-Win
-
Frank McCourt is on the clock having to consider a $1.2 billion bid for the Dodgers backed by Chinese state-owned entities. That would be a record, and when you consider the much lower prices other teams have fetched, and the other stuff you get with the Dodgers, namely ultra-prime real estate, $1.2 billion might be the right price. But the bid expires in 21 days, and McCourt doesn't want to sell. And the Dodgers have two years left on their cable contract, with the sale of TV rights expected to hold the key to the team's ability to emerge from bankruptcy. So this is complicated. Would you take this deal or hope that the cable money rescues you? (Los Angeles Times)
