Acceptable Only If Actually Funny
-
The Macon fire department is in an uproar over a prank video in which rookie firefighters are surprised by a masked guy bursting into the fire house waving a gun. It turned out to be hazing, but now the fire chief is talking about firing people for this. And the question is whether hazing and pranks -- especially on work time, while taxpayers' money is being used -- are ever acceptable. Either they're helpful in blowing off steam or they're just stupid, unnecessary, and cruel. I'd vote the latter, but I'm not much for practical jokes. And when they involve waving a gun, the prankster's lucky he didn't get his ass shot up by one of his "victims." (Macon Telegraph)
