Redondo Beach had had enough of day laborers congregating and soliciting work from passing cars and causing traffic hazards, so it banned the practice. And the court has thrown the law out, saying that the day laborers have a right to hang out in parking lots and on the sidewalk and offer themselves for work. And maybe they do, although they'd clear out the moment an ICE agent shows up. Forget the immigration part, though; if you're out of work and need to pick up day labor to survive, should you be banned from doing it? Or would you just take out an ad on Craigslist?
