You Won't Be Able To Breathe The Cleaner Air
-
The FDA is reminding everyone that you won't be able to buy Primatene Mist after December 31st. What? No more Primatene Mist, the staple of daytime TV advertising of the 1960's? Why? Simple: It uses chlorofluorocarbons, and they're bad for the ozone layer, they say. They couldn't come up with a different way to propel the stuff? Anyway, other medications use hydrofluoroalkane as a propellant, and that's more environment-friendly, but none are epinephrine inhalers. So if Primatene's what works for you, you'll probably have a harder time breathing after this year ends. (CNN)
