Athlete? That's Bull
-
Wait, wait, hold on. Now, I am not acquainted with professional bull riding, but when they call "legendary bull" Little Yellow Jacket, who died last week, a "tremendous athlete," I gotta ask whether non-humans can be considered "athletes." Don't you have to be consciously involved in sporting pursuits to be an athlete? Bulls don't know what's going on, and they certainly aren't volunteering to play the sport. They just know that some guy's been plunked on their backs, the gate's open, and they need to shake the guy off their backs. So... athlete? (It says that his "last set of natural calves" will be born next year, but they likely have plenty of Little Yellow Jacket sperm socked away someplace for the production of "unnatural" calves) (PBR; Thanks to Jim Walsh at KFYR-A/Bismarck for the link)
