Getting Ahead Of The Crowd
-
The Los Angeles police aren't waiting for what's happening everywhere else to happen here: They've started monitoring Internet chatter to prevent flash mobs. They headed off two during Carmageddon that planned to swarm the closed freeway and bridge, and they're on the lookout on Twitter and Facebook for any hint that something could be up. It's a shame the police have to spend time and money doing this, but Philly could have used this kind of initiative. (Los Angeles Daily News)
