Making A Toothache Seem Not So Bad After All
-
An Australian dentist has escaped a reprimand even though a complaint was upheld against him for burning a hole in a patient's face while drilling. The drill heated up and burned the patient, causing nerve damage and necessitating plastic surgery. This wasn't the first time the dentist had burned a patient's face, either. But I've had the unpleasant experience of a drill heating up while having dental work done, so this isn't as rare as you might think. But you'd also think that the dentist would have noticed the skin burning up. (Sydney Morning Herald)
