So, they passed the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" last year -- you can call it Obamacare -- and what was the first tangible result? The Kaiser Foundation says that after years of relatively small increases, the price of health insurance skyrocketed. They went up 9% while wages went up 2.1% and inflation 3.2%. The insurance companies are preparing for the day when they're forced to take all comers and cover more, and they're getting their increases in advance. And, remember, pending court challenges, the government wants to force you to pay those premiums or be fined. The fines might be cheaper. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
