I think that I wrote last year at this time that if you don't hit, you can't win. Just go find that and repeat it. Phillies lose, Cardinals win 1-0 and advance to the NLCS. Roy Halladay gave up a triple and double to Furcal and Schumaker leading off the game and then became lights-out for most of the game, but Chris Carpenter was lights out, too, and the Phillies bats remained asleep. Ryan Howard was awful, then ended up injured on the final play, while Polanco, Ibanez, and Ruiz absolutely could not hit all series and Hunter Pence was pretty awful at the plate, too. Okay, enough bitterness from me. Let's move on. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
