Because He Can't Fix Anything Else

The state economy's still in tatters, but Governor Jerry Brown is on top of the things that really matter... to him. After signing the Dream Act, he's signed a law banning teens from using tanning beds. Is that really a rampant problem in a state which largely gets a lot of sun the natural way anyway? And he also signed a law allowing 12-year-olds to consent to STD treatment, because why should parents be informed when their 12-YEAR-OLD is sexually active and catching disease, or when the school wants to give the kid the HPV vaccine? And the cops can no longer impound cars driven by drunk unlicensed drivers at DUI checkpoints, because many of them are illegal immigrants -- I am not making this up, that's the reason -- and they don't want to be unfair to the illegals. Brown has his priorities, all right. (Sacramento Bee; Los ANgeles Times)
