Win And They'll Overlook A Lot

While the sports world was buzzing about the Boston Globe article detailing the drinking in the Boston Red Sox clubhouse and manager Terry Francona's medication, at least one guy didn't seem surprised. That would be former Florida Marlins manager Jack McKeon, who told of Josh Beckett's penchant back in 2003 for going to the clubhouse during games to "get a drink or hang out." Brad Penny allegedly did it, too. it got so bad that McKeon actually threatened to lock the clubhouse during games and created bathroom passes for the players to use during games so that they didn't do what Beckett was doing. What's interesting to me is that back in the old days, players were known to do stuff like that; they were a lot less body conscious back in the day. (CBS Sports)
