Here's our second racist noose controversy of the Halloween season, this one a Halloween decoration with a scarecrow hanging from a tree in a Brooklyn yard. The neighbors say it was just part of an annual display, no racism intended, but a local councilman, claiming that the scarecrow had "dark skin" (note: scarecrows don't have "skin"), claimed it was "reminscent of a lynching." So, really, hanging anything from a noose has become taboo. (WCBS-TV/New York; Thanks to Jeff Katz at WXKS (Talk 1200)/Boston for the link)
