Yet We Still Can't Cure The Common Cold
-
The wonders of technology: here are cities in Florida that have new solar–powered trash bins that compact trash and call for pickup when they're filled. This is supposed to save money, because it means that the trucks don't have to come out as often. They only come out when the bins are filled. I'm skeptical, because, let's face it, some people have more trash than others, and I can just imagine trucks having to go out pretty much every day of the week to clear out the bins. The way it is now, they come out once or twice a week on a regular route. If you have more trash, you use more bins, and you don't have to spend extra for high-tech garbage cans. Besides, it wouldn't matter, because if that place is anything like where we live, wild animals will knock the Dems over to get at the food that's in them, and no high-tech trash bin is going to fix that.
